Ira Nash, MD, FACC, FAHA, FACP is the Executive Director of Northwell Health Physician Partners, and Senior Vice President of Northwell Health, and a professor of Cardiology and Population Health at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. After graduating summa cum laude from Harvard College, Dr. Nash received his medical degree cum laude from the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard Medical School. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and maintains an active clinical practice. He was in the private practice of cardiology before joining the full-time faculty of Massachusetts General Hospital. He then held a number of senior positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center prior to joining Northwell Health. Dr. Nash is the former spokesperson for the American Heart Association and is frequently interviewed to provide information and commentary on current topics in cardiovascular care. He has been featured in Businessweek and is on the editorial board of the American Journal of Medical Quality. He has edited a book on myocardial infarction care and is an Associate Editor of Hurst’s the Heart, a major textbook and online reference for cardiovascular medicine. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Dr. Nash proudly served his country as a Commander in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy Reserve. He is married with two daughters and enjoys cars, reading biographies and histories, and following his favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees, when not practicing medicine.
